Styled Shoot

I was lucky enough to be a part of a styled photo shoot with the girls from Weddings Inspired From the Heart.  They opted for a rustic country wedding, here is my addition to the shoot!Image

White Ruffles

A lovely retirement cake

St. Patty’s Day Wedding

A wedding on St. Patty’s Day mixed with a love for Disney/Pixar/Comic books leads to this incredibly original wedding cupcake tower, complete with not one but two surprise cakes!  The Xbox controller is the surprise gro0ms cake, while the groom ordered the bride a surprise tennis ball cake (awww)

Flower Cascade

A cake I’ve wanted to whip up for months- thank you mom for finally giving me an excuse!  I love this fondant flower cascade.

Ruffles

Here is the first (probably of many) fondant ruffle cakes.  Starting from a soft pink to a dark rose, each layer was specially placed and “ruffled” to obtain this elegant look!

Becky and Shane

The second I walked into Becky and Shane’s reception room at All Hallow’s Catholic Church in La Jolla, I understood why she emphasized the “garden” and “flowery” theme.  Beautiful flowers filled the room in yellow and white.  Roses, daisy’s, wildflowers, baby’s breath, you name it, it was there and stunning.  This tower held 220 cupcakes, each adorned with a random flower or cluster of flowers, each of which was centered with either a pearl or silver sugar dragge.

Meet the Mortensens

Erin and Danny Mortensen’s wedding was with 175 guests and included a replica of Danny’s awesome Chevy truck.  I added some wedding details inclulding “Just Married” on the back window, the wedding date as the license plate number, dangling cans, and some presents in the bed of the truck.  The cupcake toppers were yellow fondant squares stamped with an “M” I cut out of foam.  Congrats you two!

Johnston Wedding

The first of three consecutive wedding cupcake towers belongs to the Johnstons!  120 cupcakes decorated with dark purple, lavender, and apple green flowers.  The wedding was held at the Old Richmond Schoolhouse in San Marcos, appropriate for this lovely couple given they are both teachers, hence the apple green color and apple place settings!  I was seated with Jenn’s friends and was quickly adopted into their highly exclusive book club, told I would be running a marathon with them, posing in the photo booth with boas and hula skirts, and giving the photographer photos that I pray will never be seen by anyone.  Such a fun night celebrating the union of this sweet, sweet couple.  Here are some pictures from the evening:
